Skylane's Sloppy Joes
This recipe is from a bowling alley in Minneapolis that was walking distance from our church. We would often gather with friends or a few family members, bowl, then sit up at the counter and enjoy these wonderful sandwiches, served on a paper plate with potato chips and a kosher dill pickle.
Ingredients
- 2 cups ketchup
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups onions finely chopped
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 4 lbs ground beef
Instructions

Combine and boil all ingredients except beef.

Let simmer for 15 minutes.

Brown the beef and add to sauce.

Season with salt and pepper.

Serve on warm buns (don’t forget the chips and pickles!)
