Nuoc Cham (Vietnamese Dipping Sauce)

This is the wonderful fish sauce based side that goes wonderfully well with Spring Rolls, as a topper to Vietnamese Stir Fry or even as a light salad dressing. Make a little extra to marinate chicken in before you stir fry or bake it. Delicious!


  • 2 small cloves of garlic minced
  • 1 tsp chili paste
  • 1/4 cup fish sauce
  • 2/3 cup hot water
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • small amount of shredded carrot, dried red pepper and/or finely chopped green onion garnish


  1. Mix all ingredients together.

  2. Can store in fridge for two weeks.
