Don’t Eat This Play Dough

Non-edible Cooked Play Dough

This was one of your favorites to play with at the Gibraltar house. I used koolaid to color and scent it, but you can also use food coloring and extracts.

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1 tbsp alum
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • several packets unsweetened Kool-Ade

  1. In a large bowl, mix first 3 ingredients. Set aside.

  2. In a medium saucepan, bring water and oil to boil.

  3. Remove pan from heat and pour the hot liquid over the flour mixture.

  4. Stir together until well mixed.

  5. Knead dough until smooth.

  6. Divide dough into several portions, and add in a separate flavor of Kool-Aid to each batch. Mix well.

  7. Store in an airtight container when not in use.
