One Hour Yeast Donuts

Dissolve until foamy:

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 packets dry yeast
  • 6 tbsp sugar


  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp shortening
  • 6 cups flour


  1. Mix well in electric mixer.

  2. Flour board well, pour out batter, turn over so it is floured on both sides.

  3. Pat out to 1/2 inch. Cut and let sit 1 hour.

  4. Fry in deep hot fat.

  5. Dip in thin powdered sugar glaze while hot.
