Grandma’s Apple Cobbler
This may be my favorite of Grandma Barker’s recipes. It is tender, delicate and when made with a tart apple like a Granny Smith or Haralson, it is a perfect combination. It begs for cinnamon ice cream on top.
Ingredients
- Place 6 medium-sized cut up apples in a buttered 11x7 baking dish
- Mix together until dough is formed:
- 1 cup flour
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 egg
- ¾ tsp salt
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- dash cinnamon
- dash nutmeg
Instructions
-
Toss dough evenly over apples.
-
Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
-
Serve warm with cream. (or like I do, with ice-cream and caramel sauce!)
