Cheesy Keto Kraut Burgers

When I do Keto, I tend to eat a lot of hamburger, so I'm always looking for ways to cook it. My favorite will always be a burger on the grill, but as I am typing this today, it is a chilly, rainy, Colorado June day.

This recipe features the wonderfood, sauerkraut, as well as pickle juice and bone broth (if you have any to spare.) Made on the stovetop, these are quick, easy, and cheesy!

Servings 4 patties

Ingredients

  • 1 cup bone broth chicken or beef
  • 1/4 onion cut
  • squirt mustard
  • splash dill pickle juice
  • 1/4 cup sauerkraut
  • 1 lb ground beef shaped into 4 patties
  • black pepper to taste
  • 4 slices cheese if desired

Instructions

  1. Over medium heat, add all ingredients, except and cheese, into large frying pan. Mix well.

  2. Bring to a boil, add patties, reduce heat to a simmer.

  3. Flip patties occasionally, until most of red stops oozing out.

  4. Add slice of cheese to the top of each patty, and let melt (cover pot if necessary.)

  5. Remove from heat.

  6. Serve burgers topped with onions and sauerkraut from pan.
